Cleaning stuff

I Got some 6gallon pickle buckets to use. What should I do about cleaning these to ensure the safety of my fishes.

Like. Water changes and what not. Since I'm getting a 20 gallon tank and what I use now to. Change the water is barley 3-4 gallons

soak in bleach and water for a couple hours--- rinse and dry verrrrrrrrrrryyyy good.
