cloudy water
I just bought a bigger aquarium and filled it up with tap water. I used the water conditioner to treat the water and I wanted to get a bacteria bloom started so I added about one gallon from my old tank to my new 55 gallon tank. The next day it turned my water cloudy. I have been running my tank for 4 days now and I wanted to put my fish in the new aquarium. Did I mess up by adding water from the old tank to the new one?

Well I am not sure what the white clould is but water from your other tank did pretty much nothing for your new tank water hold very little if any bacteria, the cloud could be from your substrate if it was not rinsed enough. Without a ammonia source such as a rotting raw shrimp or pure ammonia dosed correctly your tank will not cycle and there for not be good for any fish.
Please read the stickies at the top of the Getting Started forum and then post any questions that you have on fishless cycling. Good luck?
