I started cycling my tank two weeks ago and added a few fish this past Monday. For the past week I have noticed this slime or fungus or something growing on my bamboo in the tank. The bamboo is not fully submerged, the tops are exposed to the air. I can scrub it off only to see it return with a day or two. Anyone who has used bamboo know what this is? Is it harmful to my tank? Will it go away over time ? Do I need to take my bamboo out and come up with a plan B....

Any help would be really really appreciated!!'

Are you sure it's not sugar cane? If that's the case take it out and go for plan b

I'm positive it's bamboo, I got it from my sister who has a ton of it in her backyard, I dried it out and let it die then coated it with a sealant

I'd go with plan B and check your levels, I'm pretty sure sealant would not be health for your fish.
