how long should i let my tank cycle f.y.i my fish are in a 2 gal container
can i have fish in the tank whial cycleing

until its fully cycle'd , when every thing stops spikeing and the amonia reads 0.1-0

As e-cat said, a tank is not cycled until all the ammonia and nitrites are converted into nitrates. How are you cycling this 2g tank? If there are no fish in it, or no source of ammonia, its not cycling. You can cycle a tank with fish, but in a tank that small could be deadly. Ammonia and nitrites will spike VERY quickly in a tank that small, and can easily kill your fish.

you could put a little , tiny bit of food into the tank to start it of , you wont need very much for a 2 gallon.
