How do you cycle a planted tank? I am sorry if this is in the wrong fourm. This is what I will be using in my tank:

Marineland(ML) 20g combo (canope/tank)
Fluorescent bulb
ML 125 Bio-wheel filter
ML Dual temp. heater 100w
Big Al's staple flake food
1 oz Big Al's water condioner
1 oz Big Al's Bio-support
Net
Thermometer
Samples(???)

Are you planning on having fish in your planted tank, or just plants? If just plants, there is no need to cycle. If fish as well, it's cycled the same as any aquarium containing fish.

Not familiar with Marinelands 20g combo. How many watts is that flour. bulb? Sounds like you might need to upgrade your lighting dependent on what species of plants you wish to keep.

:) Please do some reading on the sticky at the top of this section, as well as the article on cycling in the articles section. Then you'll have a better understanding of what you'll need to do.
