I been cycling so far for 2 days. I put in some fish food on the first and then checked the Ammonia and Nitrate the next day.

Ammonia was 2- 4 ppm
Nitrate was 0 ppm

I added some fish food at the end of that day to keep some ammonia up.

Today I checked it again.

Ammonia was around 1- 2 ppm
Nitrate was still 0

What happened to the ammonia? I don't even have any nitrate yet

Ammonia gets converted to nitrites and that gets converted to nitrates. I think it is too early in the cycle for nitrites to appear. Maybe you didn't add enough food to keep the ammonia level up.

I meant Nitrite lol, btw if i add some gravel from my 10 gallon planted will it help the bacteria reproduce faster?

New update. The ammonia went went to 0 and Nitrite went to 5+. Not sure about Nitrates. I should probably get the kit, but money lol.
