Ok. I am at Day 8 of my fishless cycle in my 10 gallon tank. Water has been stable at 79 degrees and has been crystal clear for the last 5 days

Here are the API Master Test results
PH 7.6
Ammonia .25 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Nitrate 0 ppm

I also bought pure ammonia to use but I don't know how much to use.

What's next?

Thanks!

I just added 1ml ammonia to the 10 gallon tank. Not sure what the % ammonia I have (shoprite brand. Clear. No additives)

Yes. Test how much ammonia you have and then test again tomorrow. 1ml isn't much I think you should add more ammonia to 3 or 4 ppm. You can figure out if the ppm with your test kit probably.

Ya test your ammonia and if it is lower then 3 or 4 ppm I would add a little more til it gets there, I think we added 1/2 tsp to our 10 gal in total.

Ok. So 2 hours ago I added 1ml and now I have a 2ppm reading. I just added another 1ml. I will test again in an hour and post results.

Should I test the nitrites as well?

No reason to test nitrites yet. You do though want to check your tap water for ammonia, nitrite & nitrate- this will give you a baseline for your tank numbers.

UPDATE:

I just tested the tank and the ammonia is still at 4ppm.
Yesterday (day 10) I added another 1ml of ammonia at at 9:00 I was at 4ppm

So now 24 hrs later I am at the same level.

I am assuming its just the waiting game now
