I saw this item for the first time today and I wished It was available back when I had my saltwater tanks. Just wondering if any of you use it for freshwater. $40 seems like a lot for one item but perhaps I can be sold on it. I am setting up my first freshwater tank and it will be a 45g. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to need for keeping the tank clean.

Had to google "flipper". LOL. Personally I use a sponge on a stick. I have talked to people who like the magnetic cleaners.

I have a sponge on the stick thing and this this thing with basically plastic blade. I'd get both. They both work on different kinda of algae. Like the sponge stick works on brown/green algae where it doesn't work on bba
