Easy tank build

Hello fellow aquarium keepers!

I’m thinking of getting back into fishkeeping. I used to have 35-60 gallon goldfish tanks.

I want to put together a really really simple build. Dumb simple. 15 gallons would be the max I would want. I was thinking white mountain cloud minnows. Does anyone have some suggestions for me about this?

I wouldn’t be opposed to some plants in the tank either provided they aren’t high maintenance.

You might consider a a tank which has the same size as a 15G foot print but a little more gallons as more gallons easier to maintain.

Long tanks are generally best for active swimmers.

There are a few I can think of...

Nano fish like Chili Rasbora / Boraras Brigittae (most red)
Phoenix Rasbora (Boraras Mereh)
Strawberry Rasbora (Boraras naevus)
Dwarf or Pygmy Rasbora (Boraras maculatus)
Least or Exclamation Rasbora (Boraras urophthalmoides)

If you are interested in these guys this can help when you actually get to the lfs. I have been sold inaccurately labeled Boraras at least 2x, I am much more familiar after years of keeping them.

Pygmy Cories
Corydoras Pygmaeus, C. habrosus, C. hastatus

By getting the little guys you can open up the ability to get more of a group of them.

Some kinds of Killifish.

There are more nano fish to look into.

On the plants side look in the-
sword family (amazon sword, melon swords, etc)
ferns (java, etc)
Moss balls
Dwarf lilies

Those are all really simple plants and require none to very little ferts/maintenance. You could fert once a week with your water changes and be fine.
