Expired Micro Pellet Fish Food - Okay to Use?

I found a brand new, never opened packet of Hikari Tropical Micro Pellets hiding in my fish supply box. The expiration says "best before 2008.04." Do you think I should just throw it away or can this food still be used? LOL

It's an interesting question that I don't know the answer to. I wouldn't risk it though.

Have you ever eaten spoiled food and gotten food poisoning? I have.

Yeah food poisoning sucks!!!! I had it once..LOL I just figured that this stuff is dried and sealed in some aluminum-style packet and would last. Guess my thought process was questioning the "best before" instead of actually seeing an "expiration" listed. Anyway, I suppose it's best to err on the side of caution and chuck it!
