Oh wow there is actually a structure within the gravel slope...hmm..cool!

i place cut to size clear plastic egg carton in the bottom made a ramp , and crate top.cover top with gravel till they can get out of water.so basically they can start out of the water, go down in the large resevoir area where the water from the filter lands, then enter the cave entrance where it opens up to the rest of the underwater area the size of the tank!, its just hidden, thats all

your very welcome, just an idea....woud like to add a sand/bark top, maybe later...or a rubbermaid bin could have a nice area to work with but adding a filter would take some modifying

If you're relying on that as air access for fiddlers, it's not really suitable. They need a beach are where they can walk and dig. Also siva, I've tried the multilevel setup, and IMO they aren't the greatest climbers. Emulating their habitat with a sloping beach seems to work better. A 20 long would be ideal for this. More than one male is perfectly fine, as long as they have ample room for territories. A little fighting is okay as long as they have room to escape. 2 males and 2-4 females should work in a 20 long.
