Filter Idea?

I was told to soak filter tubes in bleach + water solution because of all the algae inside of them before I start up my tank.

Can I just run the filter (with no media) in this bleach solution?

Hmmm..... Using my magic powers I am guessing that it is an AquaClear 45. I assume you just run it in the solution, but afterward you have to run it in tap water to get rid of the bleach.

Sometimes to help the cycle stage it's easier to leave the algae and bacteria in the filter. Saves them having to build it all up again.

the filter was out of use for a year man it's drying after being thoroughly cleaned from bleach I have ceramic media with filtered bacteria in it, are they alive?

no media was bleached it's in the closet

Yea prity much but have fun with it I'm geting ready to clean a 120 then cut the stand down the. Start it fresh
