I have this two day old aquaclear 20 running, but it makes a loud vibration whirring noise. It lessens when I take off the cover, but it is still noticeable. How can I fix this?

Take it apart and rinse it and put it back together, I would imagine the impeller is not seated properly.

Is there a bubble in the top of the intake tube? Mine would sound like that until I worked out the bubble (turn it over to the low setting for a minute, then quickly slide it to the high setting). I also always removed the top... they always make it a little noisy.

I think there was one, thanks!! Yea, and removing the cover makes a significant difference in sound as well. I like the cover though haha, so I just left it kinda off of the filter, so it is not locked in place.
