Fish question?

Hey people!
I was just thinking on something, I am currently cycling my 120Gal aquarium, and what is going in there is my fire eel. Well I am trying to decide on what other fish to add to the aquarium, and I kind of wanted to get an tire track eel. I heard that or I read it from some where, that you can have an fire eel and a different eel, but do not put the same speices together. So is that true?? Cause if that is, then I am thinking about getting an tire track eel. But if it is just a rumor, then nevermind. I wanted to ask you guys first to get more of peoples ideas and stuff.

I have kept assorted spiny eels with conspecifics with no apparent problems.

I have 2 Spiny Peacocks and 2 Striped Peacocks in the same tank. No problems.
