Fish suggestions for tankmate Bichir?

so my bichir is small still and I want to get some other fish...I was thinking of something that schools like 6-7 angelfish or rainbow fish and maybe a larger cichlid or a pair of cichlids....frontosas, green terrors, blue jack dempseys I have looked at...any ideas or suggestions?

What size tank? Cichlids are pretty agressive so if your going to add them it's best to add them all at once and try to get same size.

30 gal so I don't want a HUGE cichlid like an oscar or something that grows real rapid...I'm planning on getting a bigger tank within the year though
