yeah, sponge on bottom...cut to size...filter floss on top, and gravel baggie that is just slightly out of the water...but not high enough to stop your bio-wheel from turning.
For a new stacked set up...cut up some of the filter casing from your old filter w/out the carbon and put it in with the filter floss. It sounds complicated, but its really not.
