Fluval 204

Just wondering if I'd be able to use a fluval 204 as a secondary filter but without the media baskets? It was given to me without baskets and just thought I'd inquire. I pretty much just wanna have it for more BB.

why not just put k1 filter media in it for bb it should be just fine with this

k1 filter media has too move to work properly it controls the life cycle of bb casting off the old dead bb to make room for new bb

I have some sub pro already I was hoping to use. Ok cool. I have the sponge holders and sponges, think I could/should use them?
