I have 60 in my 40 gal planted tank and 20 in my 75 gal with plants. They have not moved in months

And the book is right about 80 is ideal but as long as you have good buffer you will be ok just dont let it hit 0 then you will be in trouble with unstable ph

I'm so excited!!! Last 2 days I've dosed to 5ppm and 24 hours later both ammonia and nitrItes at 0!

Finally, after 6 months and 4 different attempts I think my tank is actually almost cycled!!

Gonna keep dosing it for another 3 weeks and doing w/c to control the pH, but I think I may actually get my dwarf puffer after all

Just need to deal with the hair algae that's developed now

Congradulations! For the hair algae only run your lights 6 hours a day until it's under control and then slowly build back up to 8 hours as long as algae doesn't return. Also spot treat the hair algae with Excel or Hyrogen Peroxide.
