I have a 55 gallon tank. I am getting a Jack dempsey cichlid at 3 inches and a blue diamond flower horn cichlid that is also 3 inches. i have the opportunity to get a sailfin pleco and a lined pictus catfish. Is this too much for my tank? what small things can i get to make my tank look more full? what fish besides the pleco and catfish would go well with my cichlids? will these two cichlids get along okay?

Most of the sailfin plecos get huge and would not be appropriate for a 55g tank.

Your tank is not really even big enough for the fish you have now once they reach adult size. Keep an eye on the flowerhorn and the JD as they bigger. Sometimes those fh's can be pretty nasty.

I would honestly say that the flowerhorn alone is going to fully stock that tank. Not to mention that it will usually kill any of its tank mates, especially the pleco and catfish and very likely the JD as well.
