I've got a 10g set up for the 14 Black Molly fry (the largest one is 3/4", most are under 1/2") I managed to pull out of the community tank before they became lunch. Since I fired it up, I've been watching the parameters, and after the ammo settled down, my nitrites have been insane. I'm talking 2-5ppm every day. For the past week and half I've been doing at least 1 80% pwc every day trying to keep them in check. The ammo stays <.25, and the nitrates are not yellow, but less than 5ppm, so I know its cycling, but where could these massive nitrites be coming from? They get fed just a few grains of 'first bites' twice a day, and i've tried doing it once a day for awhile, but nothing changed in my readings. I checked after my last pwc, and the tank read 0, my tap reads 0, but after 24 hours my tank shoots up to at least 2. The fish seem fine, haven't lost any, yet. Any ideas?
