How do I get Bio-Spira to Canada FAST!?

(This has also been posted in the Canadian Forum.)

I have had a bit of a stressful week and accidently underdosed the water conditioner when I did a 50% water change on my nearly cycled 30g tank Fortunately I caught my mistake in time and my new ranchus are okay (dodged a bullet that time!). But, wouldn't you know it, I killed off all of my precious nitrification bacteria (who knew I could get so attached to bacteria!).

Anyway, does anyone know how to get Bio-spira in Ottawa? Should I make a trip across the border? And if so, where would be the best destination?

Whatever the case, I see a weekend of water quality concerns ahead of me! Any help would be wecome! Tanks!

Certainly you can make the trip, or have it FedExed in...not sure where to buy it near you, though. Why not just find another local aquarist that has healthy, established tanks and swap some filter media with him? Probably won't cost you anything beyond some gas and a couple of filter sponges.

What a good idea! Now I just have to get to know some aquarists in Ottawa.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Many times if you call a local fish store they can help you. If they don't sell bio spira they may be able to give you stuff from their tanks to help reseed yours.

Just thought I'd give you an update... I posted in Ottawa and someone responded! It looks like I will have a mature sponge filter tomorrow! Yippee!
Thanks for the terrific advise!
(Aren't boards like AA and OVAS awesome?)
