Yes dose so the last doubling happens and you will probably be there.

I dosed to around 4 ppm

Ammonia goes from 4-0 in 24 hrs and nitrite goes from off the charts to 0 in 47 hours

Edit: Well technically the nitrite should also go to 0 in 24 hours, but you are only a doubling off. You're fine.

I'm doing a fishless cycle and I was wondering when to stop adding ammonia to keep it at 4 ppm?

When you first see nitrites I personally advocate only dosing every 2-4 days at a 2ppm dose. This keeps the nitrites from getting crazy high.

So once there is a spike in nitrites I then stop dosing ammonia?

No dose to 1-2 ppm every other day
