Hello everyone, this is my first post
Anyway, Im going to start a new 10 gallon tank. I had a few guppies in it as a kid, but want to give it another try now that I'm older and know a bit more about fish keeping. This is what I'm planning on doing-
-rinse/put in sand
-put in decorations
-fill with water
-let run till sand settles
-add some nutrafin cycle, and 3 harlequin rasboras
-do a water change every 2 days until the ammonia level is at zero.
-add plants(likely java fern, depends on what they have) and 5 pygmy cories
-wait a week or two for the tank to stabilize and then add 3 more harlequins and a Siamese algae eater
Does this sound like a good plan? Any tips/suggestions are appreciated! :fish2:

I would try fishless cycling instead of fish in cycling. You can add plants during the cycle, just wait to add plants. Also I would hold off on the Siamese algae eater because they like to be in groups and get too big for a ten gallon.

How about during the cycle I just add the plants and a snail, and then after it is completed I add the harlequins and the pygmy cories, but no Siamese algae eater?
