I currently have 2 9325K CF bulbs over my 75g tank. My substrate is dark brown gravel. Well, it's dark brown under normal room lighting. However, with the tank lights it looks a lot lighter, washed out.

I'm thinking that if I switch to 6700K bulbs the gravel will look darker. Am I correct?

Thanks!

Depends on the CRI of the tube as to what an illuminated object will look like compared to what it looks like in natural light. Generally, the 5000K tubes have the highest CRI (colour rendition index), and give you thee most natural look. However, it seems that very few people ar interested in a natural look; people seem to want to accent certain colours, and don't seem to care whether the look is natural.
