I am setting up a 10g tank for guppies. I bought the tank used on Craigs. It came with a hood light, however, no bulbs. It takes incandescent, bulbs.

Should I get a different hood? Can I put incandescent bulbs over guppies? What about the screw-in tubes?

There are about a dozen different ways you can go with this. If you are considering turning this into a planted tank eventually then you might look at investing in a more powerful light fixture for your tank. Otherwise you could just buy some replacement bulbs.

The guppies don't really care what light is above them.

you can get screw in florescent bulbs, which look much nicer imo and last longer, but really guppies are not picky. :)
