I know plants help with the cycling of a new tank, but would the moss ball, a large one, hold beneficial bacteria to cycle the tank?

knew it wasnt because they have the bb on them, I was just wondering the moss ball in particular due to its specific shape and make up held it. I have plenty of seeded media I can use. Its just a Fluval Spec (smaller version) I was going to try rcs in. Thanks!!

Hello bre...

Anything with a surface inside the tank will provide a home for the good bacteria. The filter media is home to most of it, but if you have a well planted tank and a lot of driftwood and other decorations, you've got a pretty substantial bacteria colony going as well.
