So now that ive stocked our tank with as many lives as its going to get, i thought I'd introduce the family.
The originals, Boomer and Sushi

After 4 weeks of searching all the local aquariums (and some not so local, 14 in total) for orandas, yesterday we stumbled across these 2 beauties, they were a bit bigger than we were looking for but that doesnt make us any less happy

Please excuse the quality of the photos, kinda new to this.

Thanks for the heads up, i'm sure its a safe way to get them but i'm not sure i like the idea of fish flying as cargo..
I've watched a few of her videos, thats how i've learnt how to tell the sex of my fish

Yeah they seem pretty comfy, boomer went crazy when we put them in, she has become their shadow although sushi is still a little cautious..
Quick question if any1 could answer it please: yesterday i hooked up an air pump, i figured the fish would stay away from the bubbles but they're always swimming through them, is that normal?

They do come from China originally.
She knows quite well where they come from.

Another couple questions open to any1..
Just on the bubbles still
1: does running an air pump increase the o2 level of the water?
( if so )
2: i think i remember reading that its possible to put too much oxygen into water and that plants need the co2 the fish expel to survive?
if any1 could educate me regarding these, I'd be grateful

The air stones don't oxygenate the tank directly. But they move the water so that more water is in contact with the air. Most people I know with planted tanks don't run air stones except at night.

I just think they look really unnatural to me, so I haven't used one in years.

But Goldfish people often use them.

So we've now added a bristle nose pleco to the tank, partially to eat any algae but mostly for a bit more character, was good for the first 20 mins, now it spends all its time cleaning the insides of the ornaments and we rarely see it, talk about epic fail
