more newbie cycle/plant questions

never tested it before.....until now....My tap water has NitrIte: 0 NirtAte:0 Ammonia:0 pH: 7.6

Right at the end of the cycle the numbers tend to hover at the same level for about a week or so before finally dropping to 0ppm. I know it's hard, but a little more patience and you should be there.

I managed to resist the cute little fishies and bought five plants-- the lady at the store said the "plant guy" wasnt in so I didn't know what I got.
