Moving while cycling...

Hi people,

Well, as my tank is still cycling, I'm needing to figure out the best way to move it (14 gallon) to minimize the cycle setback. Any suggestions? It can stay where it is for the next week, but I'm going to have to move it before the 1st. Where am I at in my cycle, you might ask? Well, my NH is about 4 (with the help of two shrimp), my nI is .5, my nA is 20.

Make sure that your filter material stays wet during the move and you should be fine.

Very true. Keep the filter media wet and the substrate wet. You don't need to worry about the water, it contains very little of the beneficial bacteria. How far are you moving?

The rules should be the same as if the tank was cycled. Put the fish in a bucket with a heater (keep an eye on the temp), dump enough water so you have enough in there to just cover the substrate, keep the filter media wet (using tank water), move it all, set it up at the other end and you should be fine. With a 15g you should just be able to sit it in the boot of a car.
