So, I think I may be ready to add fish....?

For the last 2 days, I've added ammonia up to 4ppm, and after 24hr all readings except nitrates return to 0. Earlier today nitrates were at about 40ppm, so I did a mighty water change & will check numbers again in about an hour.

I'd like to reduce water temp to around 77-79deg (it's held at 85 during the fishless cycle).

Is there more I need to do before finally adding fish?

I think you're good to go!

After my water change, the nitrites are up again. I conditioned the water before adding to tank. I waited an hour, tested again and nitrites are still 2ppm.

2nd time getting unusual readings after a water change. Very puzzled...

Weird. Did you redose ammo?

Not since last night.

I did a big water change today and was also expecting to see a substantial drop in nitrates too, and that didn't happen.

At this point I'm wondering if I shld dose up the ammo again, and if another wc is needed
