I'm having a problem with alkalinity in my tank. I already have 2 pieces of drift wood in my tank and I was told that it will help with the alkalinity. I have had my 30 G tank for about 3 weeks now and a lot of my fish like lower levels of alkaline and I don't no what to do. Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Well you can buy expensive substrate to help lower PH. I used ADA AquaSoil Amazonia $$

You can put Peat Moss in the filter. (?)

I use part tap/part Distilled water during water changes.
It helps me, but I only have little tanks.

You can stick to fish that like your water.

What fish are you trying to keep ? Many tank bred fish may do ok.

If you are trying to breed them it can be more of a concern.

I have 6 neons 7 red minors 3 Otos and 1 rainbow shark. They seem to be doing ok but I just want to lower it because when I get more fish I don't want them to get stressed out

Don't play with PH unless you have a long term solution. Fish will suffer if tank values swing up and down.
