I admitt i did it as well when i was younger, and my mother did her best to control my mistake. LFS sold us Male/Female Guppies, before we knew it our cat was the only way to stop the fishes from crushed on the floor. Havent had a tank since, but i have read up a lot and talk to people who have tanks i admire so i understand a bit more.

Couple of months back and i wouldnt bother with a leak test, heater, rinsing rocks, not feeding the otos, and getting an army of shrimps cause they look cool lol

--So marble isnt safe () or just too expensive? I have a childhood toy/knick-knack (marble dinosaur) that i was planning on putting in with the slate lol. Its basically the same color as from what i can see

That link was helpful. Too bad my childhood marble dinosaur cant go into the tank. Guess making the caves will do for my own touch in the fish tank
