Neon Tetras??

Hi,so me and my friend are getting neon tetras. We know they need to be in a school and we know how to tell females apart from males. But can we keep all males together? All females together? Thanks.

Keeping them separate shouldn't be a problem, IMO. Would they be happier mixed up? Most likely.

Is there a particular reason you only want all of one sex?

If you're worried about millions of fry, don't. Unless you're going to be separating them and putting them in dedicated breeding tanks and removing adults as soon as eggs are present, it's extremely unlikely you'll see any fry.
