New and not sure what to do?

I was recently gifted a 5.5gal tank, complete with filter and screen hood thing. I was doing some reading about what to put in it, and decided that White Cloud Mountain Minnows would be a good choice for me. My question is: how many can I have in the tank? Thank you for your help!

It's important we get that out of the way before we talk stocking.

Yes I have, I know that the tank has to be cycled before I add any critters

That's great! It's very important and most don't take the time to learn it then come to us with a sick or dead fish.

Now..

Most places will agree a minimum of 10 gallons is suitable for WCM though a few agree on 5 gallons of more.

IMO you could do 2-3 OR..

Here's some other tropical stocking options:

Betta

ADF

Nano rasboras

Shrimp


Caleb

You added "caleb" at the end of the list, in the same size font. I cant figure out if this is supposed to be a signature or if you want to go in the tank? Both are alright, though you may find a difficult time in that small of a tank. No room to swim :/

I would do a Batta and a few Ghost Shrimp, with some planties. Or an African Dwarf Frog with a small snail.
