New filter!!

So I got a fluval c3 filter for my 30 gallon, right now I have it running on my already we'll established 10 gallon, so my question is, how long will it take for beneficial bacteria to form in the filter? Any input/advice will be greatly appreciated

Can you move some filter media over from the filter on your established tank? You could divide it in half and still not cause an issue. This would be almost an instant cycle. Just keep in mind that if the bb have nothing to feed on in the new tank the colony will die off...
