New fishroom

Hey yall just bought a new house and im gonna start a fishroom/breeding think mostly african cichlids but eventuslly will grow corals and some marine fish. Could use some advise.. Since im on a buget im thinking building my own wooden rack and eventually a big linar pump for sponge filters. Can anyone give me an idea on lighting? I was thinking homedepo or lowes plug in ballist with some tube fixtures...but not very good on watts or kelvin which would best display my fish or what they would need. Will take some pictures when I get electrician over to put up lights in the room...thos thread will be a set by step as I set it up

Lucky you I would love a fishroom hahah. I dont have experience in that, but Tropical Fish hobbyist has a great article about starting a fish room and everything you need.
