New member - Setting up a 55 gal freshwater tank.

I just recently started my aquarium after not having one for 15 years. I'm 2 weeks in and trying to cycle the tank with Biozyme as recommended by a worker at the fish store. I also bought some pure ammonia, from Ace Hardware to aid in the cycling process.

Can I use both Biozyme and ammonia to cycle the tank?

Do I need to do a partial water change when the cycling is complete before introducing fish into the tank?

Thanks,
rbgoode

Welcome to the forum! IMO those bottled bacteria are useless. If you can get your money back, do so. Ace ammonia is the way to go. If you can get seeded filter media from your LFS or a friend, it will speed things up. Anyway, you have time to think about your stock list.
Check this out. It worked great for me.
