Hi

I just started a tank about 2 weeks ago and its cloudy and smells like swamp water. I did notice that I was feeding my fish too much and replaced the filter and cleaned the bottom....maybe I should mention that my bottom is reptile sand. I have used a product called cycle but its a no go...my ph is good. It's a 29 gallon tank with real plants and some rocks in it. Any suggestions??

Thanks

It's a bacterial bloom. pretty common in new tanks. if you could give us more specs, how many fish, water parameters, ph, amminia, nitrite, nitrate, we can advise you as to what steps to take.

As you've noticed, the product Cycle doesn't really work.

Stick with VERY light feeding during your cycle process, you don't want ammonia spiking and killing your fish.

I don't know what the amonia level is nor the nitrate reading. I have
1 knewt
8 african frogs
3 moonlite gourami's
1 blue oranda
1 black oranda
2 congo tetra
