Hey guys my names is ernesto I'm a beginner at this recently got a 10 gallon with a needle nose gar but getting my hands on a 55 gal any adivice its ny first big tank and also I want more fish any ideas

Yea I know I want another gar but I'm thinking of some Oscars or something

The 55 isnt even going to be big enough for the gar.

If you do go with oscars it could only be one Oscar. That's pushing it too because a lot of people only recommend a 75 as a minimum for an Oscar.

Ouch so you think I should go with one gar one Oscar?

Definitely not the gar, that needs to be rehomed immediately because it can grow to over a foot and a 4 foot (55g) tank is not big enough for it.

Oscars grow to over 8 inches, and depending on who you ask will say what the minimum tank size is. Some people so a 55 others a 75.

However the 55 is not big enough for both, yet alone the gar by itself.
