Unhappy Newbie-Freshwater 24 gallon aquapod

Hi all. I recently purchased a used aquapod 24 off of craigslist. Unfortunately i havent the slightest clue how to set it up. One of the dual lights were burnt out and one of the fans need to be replaced. Ordered them today with spares to go along just in case. Anyways i believe all the stuff is here for the set up( and additional gear) but haven't the slightest on how to set it up for freshwater. i would like to go to salt water later, much later since i heard it was more difficult to maintain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Paul

One more question whats the best way to clean the tank even before i use it? as the previous owner didn't do a great job cleaning it. Not a bad job just not as clean as i would like. thanks again

bleach is a great way to clean a tank... a 10:1 water to bleach ratio will clean the glass and rid the tank of any possibility of a disease... once you clean it real good, let it air dry for a few days, then fill it up with water and use lots and lots of dechlor to make sure no chlorine is left... then empty it, fill it up, cycle the tank, then add fish... btw since it sounds like youre new to the hobby, check out this link on cycling the tank without fish... fishless_cycling

Thanks for an uber fast response. I will be cleaning the tank, with the solution you advised. Is the bleach solution o.k. for acrylic. Thanks for the article very informative.

Here a a few pics. It came with 3 pumps. I guess the one on the left is the stock pump and the middle one is a maxjet400, and the end one is a maxjet 1200. A jager heater. Any info on filters that i may need and set-up as far as where everything goes. thanks

im sorry, i have absoultely no idea how any of that would go together without it in front of me to play around with.... your best bet would be to post a thread in the General Hardware discusssion with something like how to in the title so people will view it that might have experience with this tank... good luck getting it together, ill be looking online to see if i can find any info
