Hello everyone,

I was going to start up 10g shrimp tank but before I start adding in fertilizers (Osmocote Plus capsules), I was wondering if this would harm the shrimp. I'm aware that shrimp are sensitive to copper which the fertilizers have so, even in small amounts would it affect the shrimp?

It will be a Iwagumi setup with ADA Amazon soil with staurogyne repens, dwarf baby tears, and some blyxa japonicas.

The amount of copper in O+ is very very tiny, so it wouldn't be harmful to RCS. Also, you are supposed to put the capsules at the very bottom of the substrate, so ideally nothing from the osmocote would even get in the water column at all.

Alright. I was just a bit concerned because ADA soil is so light that the osmocote would seep through but yep, planning on putting the capsules at the bottom of the substrate. SO I guess this means a Green for GO! thanks!
