I'm in the beginning phase of the nitrite process of a cycle. After a water change last night, this evening my high range ph is 8.4 and low range is 7.6. Is it ok to add a buffer to lower to 7.0 during a cycle or should I just let it be. This is a fish-in cycle.

In my opinion never add anything to raise or lower ph. Let the ph do its thing while cycling.

What has your PH been this whole time, I forget? :) I'm inclined to say to leave it alone too; messing with PH can be a slippery slope and cause more problems than anything else.

In the beginning it was always hovering around 7.0. Perhaps I've been sleeping on my ph and been concerned with cycle tests. Just think that todays test is kinda high but am inclined to leave it. Just wanna double check. Thanks again everyone.
