Pocostomis and Vinyl Tanks

Have a small 2.5 gallon vinyl tank. Somebody told me that I couldn't get a Pocostomis because it would scratch the vinyl. Is this true?

I'm not sure what you mean by vinyl but no pleco belongs in a 2.5g tank. The most common pleco is the common or sailfin pleco. They can reach almost 2 foot long.
