Ok hey guys! I'm sure this has been answered somewhere but I can't seem to find it... What is a good size for a QT tank? And do I have to cycle my water before? Or can I just use water from my big tank when I do a water change? How long do the fish need to stay in there? And any other QT tips you have! I've always messed up in this step

QT can be done in smaller tanks as its only temperary for 2-3 weeks i woukd suggest. Usually using a small filter from your existing tank is recommended when QTing the fish. If you have no in the tank youre adding them to i would QT them but instead wait before you can see they arnt carrying anything before adding more. The Qt tank itself can be basic without substrate but bot bare ebough to cause stress with afew decorations.

Why so long? I'm just wondering... Other people have told me that you only have to do it for a week or so... Just confused ...

Well 2weeks is what most recommend. You can do it for however long you like. I like to advise alittle more, this an opinion only and not writing in any book or on stone.

Depending on your tank and what you have, you may want to be extra careful as youre exposing your potentially expensive and loved fish to diseases. Ive read in places that after QT for 2weeks something has then broken out.
