I have a freshwater aquarium and just added two black mollies. Is it ok to add aquarium salt to the tank or can they live without the salt. Also have 4 gold barbs, a swordtail fish and a black redtail platy. Thanks.

Never add salt directly to any tank with livestock in it. Undissolved salt can burn gills.
Mollies do not need saltwater to live, though they can be adapted to either.
The barbs, swordtail, and platy won't do as well with the salt as your mollies will...I wouldn't suggest adding salt to this tank.

That's what I figured...thanks
