For a new tank, you are to use it for the first seven days and then when you do water changes.

That is the directions on the bottle. All of them say you have to dose weekly. Do you actually have to weekly for stability?

I got a bottle of it before I knew better. I will say it did and still does keep my QT cycled. I added it for 7 days and dosed it with ammonia. I add ammonia once a week and its al;ways ready.
It works for some people and other it does not. I dont think it would be all that bad to try. if anything it doesnt work and you still have to do a normal cycle. Just watch your levels and test every day and youll know if its working or not.
