I have an established tank. I'm going to get another tank & I don't want to have to cycle it.

If I put the brand new filters from the new tank in the existing tank, how long would it take to 'seed' the new filter? I was going to hand some of the new media in the existing tank also.
Many thoughts?

Thanks

When running a new filter in an established tank I usually give it a couple of weeks.

Ok Thanks

I don't have any room in my existing filter stack for the new filter

Will it seed if I just hang it in the tank? Or does it need to be in with the other filters?

filter stack?

I am not sure what you mean.

What kind of filters are these?

I have an internal filter in my existing tank. The sponge filters are arranged one on top of the other. But there isnt any more room in the enclosure for filters for me to put an extra new filter

So I was going to just hang the new filter in the tank for it to seed

As long as the filter is running it should be fine. It can't just be sitting in the tank.

That's what I needed to know

Thanks
