So my two pictus came down with ich and Petco's "herbal" ich treatment did nothing... My plan now is to bleach the tank, pump, and structures, and restart from scratch... This time, though, I have AA experts on my side!

So what would be the best course of action, AA, for a catfish tank from scratch? All I have are:

1. Filter/water circulator
2. 50w preset heater, two thermometers, etc
3. Two shelters
4. Air pump, but the bubbler will probably be swapped out for just a bubble-stone.
5. Gravel, accent rock
6. Food, stress coat/water treatments, test strips, etc.

Thanks,
- CK

What I would do is get some natural colored sand, (nothing stark white or Black) some river rock or slate depending on your taste with a few pieces of driftwood but leave the tank primarily open so the catfish can forage. throw some floating plants on top to diffuse the light and perfect. Something like this:

Also knowing the tank size would help. :)

Oops! It's a 10g.

I cleaned the tank with bleach then vinegar and let it sit. I have yet to clean the structures and pump. Tomorrow I should be cycling it for new fish...
