I'm currently setting up my 75gal tank. I have a very amazing driftwood stump to go in it. My problem is getting it to sink. What kind of material should I attach to the bottom on it, that would be non toxic?

Have you tried boiling it? It allows it to leach tannin (tea colored substance) as well as soaking it, making it naturally sink to the bottom.

I had a stump that refused to sink even after boiling it. It was a bit hollow, so I used a fostner bit (a flat bottomed wood bit) and hollowed it out a bit more. tuck a mesh bag into the hollow center and fill it with aquarium gravel. I used plant media for the top inch or so and added a small plant. Now it sinks like a stone! ;)
