What about African butterfly peacock cichlids? When i image searched the African butterfly cichlid, the first picture that popped up was the peacock one and it was really pretty.

Peacocks are a family of cichlid from lake Malawi. Most of them reach a decent size deffinetly some could live out in a 55 but not with all those live bearers they would probably eat them.

Stockig wise discus would work but they are a little fussy when it comes to water quality.

Have you looked into killifish? Some of them are quite stunning. Not sure how they'd do with guppys though.

Discus usually don't bother full grown guppies, but will eat the babies if they breed. Discus are tough to keep, though.
